Research Statement

My research direction, from a long-term vision to the systems questions I study today.

Vision

Enable everyone to independently choose, customize, and deploy AI.

I want AI to be more accessible to people with different needs and computing resources, without requiring them to build or manage large-scale infrastructure themselves.

Mission

Unlock the full potential of available computing resources through workload understanding and system optimization.

Understanding how AI workloads interact with compute and communication systems can guide more efficient resource use and help move toward that vision.

Current Research Focus

I am investigating traffic bursts in distributed AI collective communication, beginning with controlled, cross-layer measurements of communication timing and network activity. I aim to use insights about burst origins to inform workload-aware communication, scheduling, and load-balancing mechanisms.

Sub-missions [TBD]

Specific research directions and milestones will be refined as the work develops.
